Biography

Huerta was born in 1965 in Tijuana, Mexico.  He received his B.F.A. from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California in 1991 and his M.F.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998.  His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (in the 2000 biennial); the Austin Museum of Art, Texas; Santa Monica Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, California; El Museo del Barrio, New York; and the Phoenix Art Museum; among others.  His work is in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, La Jolla, California; Ulrich Museum of Art, Wichita, Kansas; and Worcester Museum of Art, Massachusetts; among others.
